Fall 2026 Season Information
OVERVIEW
Our fall program begins the week of September 14th and will end no later than the weekend of November 7th-8th. We offer a boys' program for rising 2nd-12th graders and a girls' program for rising 4th-9th graders. Tryouts are open to all players of varying skill levels and playing experience.
PRACTICE
All teams will have at least 3-4 opportunities to practice weekly. All teams will have at least one team practice weekly for 90 minutes. Teams will practice at the West Warwick Civic Center, Johnston Indoor Complex and Dr. Jorge Alvarez High School. We occasionally use other locations throughout the state. The day and times of practices are finalized approximately one week before the season begins.
Elementary teams (2nd-5th grades)

RI Magic is excited to be a part of Higher Learning's fast-paced
3v2 Basketball League. Players will sharpen their decision-making
and transition skills in a unique, high-rep format, which maximizes
player development. Games will take place on Monday nights beginning September 14th.
More information will be provided in late August. -
Additional skill development practice on Mondays once the 3v2 league concludes.
Middle School teams (6th-8th grades)

Movement session with Dr. Tim Swenson once a week
Dr. Tim Swenson is a physical therapist that works with players
on injury recovery, prevention and also improving strength and
conditioning. This video explains the movement sessions that
Dr. Tim has been offering to Magic players for four seasons. -

High school teams (9th-12th grades)

Our 9th, 10th and Varsity HGAL teams work with NBA trainer Kealen Ives.
TOURNAMENTS
Tournament play will begin for most teams the weekend of September 26th-27th. Teams will participate in four tournaments, all of which will be a 3-game minimum and have the opportunity to advance for an additional game(s). All tournaments will be local, with gym locations no more than one hour north of Providence. In addition, we only participate in larger, established tournaments with a proven track record of running well-organized events that focus on safety and competitive match-ups.
UNIFORMS
The uniform package is $95. The uniform package includes game shorts, a reversible game jersey as well as a reversible practice jersey. All players who need a uniform package will be able to try on a sample uniform at tryouts to ensure a proper fit, as uniforms can not be returned or exchanged.

We will again be hosting Media Week this fall. Individual and team photos are shared digitally with each player's
team at no cost.

RI Magic is once again offering these free, informative webinars will help players develop on and off the court, and will include experts in the field of:

• RI Magic x Ethos Performance Group Combine Testing Night Players will have the opportunity to be tested on trackable performance data such as top speed, agility, acceleration and vertical jump. Results will provide players with comparable data to athletes their age. This will take place on Saturday, October 10th at Ethos Performance Group.
