Welcome to Rhode Island Magic

The Rhode Island Magic begins its eighth season and is one of the most respected AAU clubs in the region. The reason for our success and growth is simple. As a program, we know that coaching is one of, if not, the most important factors that parents consider when choosing an AAU program. We have a plethora of talented, college educated coaches on our staff with many years of playing and coaching experience at the middle, high-school, and collegiate levels. Our talented coaches are always discussing basketball, attending clinics and continually developing as coaches and the majority of them coach at the interscholastic level as well. The coaches work extremely hard to make sure your child has a rewarding, enjoyable and educational experience. Our goals as a coaching staff are to create a fun atmosphere in which teammates build camaraderie and develop their basketball skills in a challenging and competitive environment.

We practice once a week for 2 hours.  The first half of the practice focuses on individual skill development. We teach and reinforce the main basketball concepts, utilizing drills that build on each other throughout the season. The second half of practice focuses on the team concepts of basketball, preparing players and teams for their games.

In addition to an unrivaled coaching staff, we also take pride in our organization and communication, two attributes parents have stated are also extremely important to them. We recommend reviewing our parent testimonials, for both the quantity and quality of feedback we have received over the years. As you look through our website, please be sure to check our FAQ, which answer many questions parents have regarding AAU and the RI Magic. We know there are many choices for AAU basketball in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and appreciate you taking time to consider the RI Magic.

Rhode Island Magic has programs for boys grades 3 through 12 and girls grades 5 through 11 and tryouts are open to all. You can register for tryouts at http://rhodeislandmagic.com/tryouts. Rhode Island Magic is an active member of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). All participants in the program must register with the AAU.
