The second practice of the week is a team practice that focuses on skill development as well as team concepts of basketball. We offer a boys' and girls'program for players in grades 3 through 12 and tryouts are open to all players of varying skill levels and playing experience.

CostThe cost for the 2020 spring season is $695.

Uniforms: If you need a uniform package, which includes a full reversible uniform, shooting shirt, and a practice reversible jersey, the cost is $85. If you played in Spring of 2018 or later, you do not need to purchase a uniform package unless your child has outgrown his/hers.

Skill Development Option: For players that are unable to commit to a full season of practices and tournaments or for players that we are unable to offer a spot on a team after tryouts, skills-only practices are an option. Summer 2020 Information:

The Rhode Island Magic is playing in the ZGXL league in the Spring/Summer of 2020. This high school exposure circuit is based out of the Greater Boston Area and features 56 high school teams with the best talent the East Coast has to offer. The RI Magic's top 9th, 10th and Varsity teams will be playing in this exposure circuit this spring. The schedule is:

April 17-19 (Live): Dana Barros Basketball Club

April 24-26 (Live): Millworks

May 22-24: Roger Williams University

July 9-12 (Live): ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World

For the past 4 years, our top 8th grade team has qualified and played at AAU Nationals, which takes places at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World. There will be a meeting in April that explains playing in the summer, but this is some general information regarding the 4 teams that will play through July. In the summer, teams practice once a week at a date and time to be determined, usually at Alvarez HS. The cost for the summer is an additional fee, which includes practice time, tournament fees and some travel expenses for the coaches. The cost will also vary depending on how many players agree to participate on each team and what tournaments they will be playing, therefore a final price will not be available until early May. Any travel and associated costs are not included in the summer fee. We do have a travel coordinator that will secure a group rate for hotels  that require an overnight stay. However, players and teams can stay where they want and travel to the tournaments however they like.

Fall 2020 Information: Our fall program begins the week of September 14th, runs through the first week of November, and consists of 5 tournaments. In the fall, for most teams, tournaments are within an hour and fifteen minutes of Providence. We practice twice a week and combined with games, players are in the gym approximately 30 times during the season. Each week, one of those practices focuses solely on skill development. We use stations to teach and reinforce the main basketball concepts, utilizing drills that build on each other throughout the season. The second practice of the week is a team practice that focuses on skill development as well as team concepts of basketball. We offer a boys' and girls' program for players in grades 3 through 12 and tryouts are open to all players of varying skill levels and playing experience.
